False Prophet/Magician Shepherd Bushiri Kicked Out of Botswana

Bushiri charged people $80-$2,000 to attend a dinner with him!

Botswana has shut down the church of a controversial Malawian self-styled magician prophet, who claimed to walk on air, and claimed to have “angels” appear in one of his church services with other erroneous claims that are quite frankly laughable! How this charlatan was able to establish a church in Washington DC is anyone’s guess.

The government confirmed the closure of Shepherd Bushiri’s Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG) in Gaborone, reportedly due to concerns over so-called “miracle money”.

Malawi24 reports that the church has appealed against the decision, taken less than a year after he was in effect banned from entering the country.

He had been due to attend a conference However, Botswana minister Edwin Batshu announced in April 2017 that Mr Bushiri – who now lives in South Africa – would need a visa to enter, despite Malawians not usually needing one, according to AllAfrica.com.

Who is Shepherd Bushiri?

  • Malawi-born magician/”prophet” who calls himself “Major One” who operates churches from Ghana to South Africa and now in Washington DC in the United States
  • Claims to have cured people of HIV and brought people back from the dead, South Africa’s Mail & Guardian says
  • Predicted the UK would split, “states” would fight and it would descend into “chaos”, the Maravi Post said in a report
  • Faked “walking on air” in a video shared widely on social media
  • Told Zimbabwe politician Kembo Mohadi he would get “the crown” before he was named vice-president, according to New Zimbabwe

The government has now announced that the church will be shut for good, with the Botswana Gazette obtaining a letter informing management the “registration” had been cancelled.

The newspaper further reports it was the church’s use of “miracle money” – false promises of money appearing as if by magic – which broke the country’s laws.

Mr Bushiri – who has more than 2.3 million likes on Facebook and filled Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium on New Year’s Eve – and his church have yet to respond publicly.

The church leader is known as much for his lavish lifestyle…

He came under fire last year after it emerged that he was charging between 1,000 and 25,000 rand ($80-2,000; £60-1,500) to attend a gala dinner with him, South Africa’s News24 reported.

How he was allowed to establish a “church” in the United States is anyone’s guess but it is a new trend that should be examined very carefully by the United States Government. The last thing that is needed in this country is another false prophet fleecing the American people. Listen to what is being said about him in Africa

Woman Dies after Pastor Sets Heavy Speaker on Top of Her in Failed Miracle Attempt

After being confronted about his deranged miracle attempt, he actually accused her of having so little faith that she couldn’t withstand such a simple task.

[This story was originally reported on Aug 2016 and may be considered “old news” but very pertinent information for Babylon Today]

Congregates of Mount Zion General Assembly, a Christian church in Polokwane, South Africa’s Limpopo province, were left in shock last Sunday, after a woman lost her life during a failed miracle attempt by pastor Lethebo Rabalango.

The controversial South African pastor and founder of the Mount Zion General Assembly church was apparently teaching congregates about the demonstration of power and was trying to emphasize that if Jesus could walk on water, then he too could do anything with the power of faith. To get his point across, Rabalango invited a young woman from the crowd to take part in a real-life miracle. He asked her to lie down on the floor and then ordered his ushers to pick up a giant speaker and lay it on top of her body.

As if the speaker wasn’t already heavy enough, Pastor Rabalango climbed on top of it to add even more pressure to the woman’s body. In one of the pictures obtained by local media, the controversial man of faith can be seen sitting on the large speaker, looking down at woman and talking into a microphone. Throughout the ordeal, the victim of this terrible miracle attempt remained suspiciously quiet and still, but no one bothered to check if she was alright.

After about five minutes, Lethebo had the ushers remove the speaker and asked the woman to rise. It was only then that everyone realized she had passed out during the ordeal. After being given first aid treatment by fellow congregates, the unnamed woman regained consciousness, but started complaining of a broken rib and was taken to the hospital. Jacaranda FM, a South African independent radio station, reported that the woman later died due to severe internal bleeding.

The worst of this tragedy is Lethebo Rabalango’s reaction to her death. After being confronted about his deranged miracle attempt, he actually accused her of having so little faith that she couldn’t withstand such a simple task. Speaking like a true man of God, indeed…

We’ve seen some crazy stunts pulled by African pastors before, like having congregates eat grass to get closer to God, making them eat human hair, or selling anointed pens for exams, but Rabalango’s failed miracle is undoubtedly the most disturbing.

Church urged to restore the decaying levels of morality among the youths in Zambian society

Mr Kawana explained that the recent development concerning youths that were rounded up at a sex-party in Woodlands area Lusaka was disheartening

The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) has called for the church’s cooperation in its efforts to restore the decaying levels of morality among youths in the country.

ZANIS Ndola reports that YMCA National president Thabo Kawana said this in Ndola this morning during a meeting with Ndola District Pastors fellowship at Ndola Baptist Church.

Mr Kawana explained that the recent development concerning youths that were rounded up at a sex-party in Woodlands area Lusaka was disheartening and that his organisation had since taken up a leading role in counselling the youths together with their parents.

“What happened in Lusaka is shocking. Infact it is disheartening. How can we have such types of parties where youths must be naked to enter? We have failed as parents. YMCA has since taken up a leading role in counselling the youths whose number has swelled to 138, together with their parents,” he said.

He added that the problem was that parents were only providers and had no time to be available for their children.

“The problem is that as parents we are only providing and not being present. If a child asks for money for a shoe we provide without knowing where they are taking that money to. That is why only rich people’s children were present at that party. We are failing as parents,” he said.

Mr Kawana further implored the church not to work in isolation with regards to issues pertaining to young people.

“As a church don’t work in isolation when it comes to youths. The church must lay the foundation and as YMCA, we shall build and then government shall out on the roof. Then we shall all be comfortable that we are raising responsible and God fearing young men, “ he said.

The YMCA National president furthermore challenged the church to be concerned with the reduction in the number of youths in church while bars and night clubs were recording increased patronage.

“You must be concerned with the way youths have reduced in number during your Sunday services and yet take a tour of bars and nightclubs they are always crowded with the same youths who have be at church. These are the issues that you should be addressing,” he advised.
